Taiwan has its own talent show, One Million Star, and this week it has produced its very own Susan Boyle in the form of a twenty four year old man with an incredible voice. Like Susan Boyle, nobody was expecting the vocals that came out of Lin Yu-chun, a short man with a child’s bowl type haircut. Singing, I Will Always Love You by Dolly Parton, in the style of Whitney Houston, you would have never known it was a man or not Whitney Houston that was singing the song.

Lin Yu-chun has a strong soprano voice and the youtube video of his performance has gone viral since it hit the internet. Everyone across the world is talking about the diamond in the rough with a huge voice that sang Whitney’s song better than she did. Where Lin goes from here is not necessarily clear either, but it is obvious that he has talent and has to go forward from here, if not in the contest, then in the music industry.

Talent shows around the globe are discovering more and more stars every year, and giving people who would never have had the chance to break into the music industry in the past, there own niche and audience.
