The Stone Temple Pilots have a long and varied band history, rife with discontent and wonderful music that appeals to the fans and critics. Despite all the drama that occurs around and because of the band, Scott Weiland and the rest of the band are able to create albums that hit all the right chords and sell like hotcakes. This time around it has resulted in an entirely rejuvenated sound that Stone Temple Pilot fans will appreciate and new fans will discover for the first time.

Because of the gap between albums, the regrouping of STP has made it necessary to target an entirely new audience than the band ever has in the past. Its regular fan base has grown up, but the demand for their music has surprisingly stayed the same, so there is some desire to create for the expectations that already exist in order to sell albums.

With Stone Temple Pilot classics getting plenty of air time with radio stations, their music may not be the hottest thing for the younger generation, but the music is still out there where they can find it. Smart marketing by Scott and their record label has also resulted in a lot of licensing deals for television and other venues.
