At a photocall on Tuesday morning (May 18) for their latest romantic drama, Blue Valentine, at the Palais des Festivals during the 63rd Annual Cannes International Film Festival in Cannes, France, co-stars Michelle Williams and Ryan Gosling sure looked like real life valentines. There was no mistaking the chemistry between them as the stars cozied up while posing for photos along with the rest of the cast.
Later in the evening, the two were again side-by-side at the Blue Valentine premiere in Cannes. The lovely co-stars were joined by producers Alex Orlovsky, Lynette Howell, and Jamie Patricof, along with actress Faith Wladyka and director Derek Cainfrance.
Blue Valentine is slated to see a limited release in the US on New Year’s Eve, while releasing in Australian cinemas on December 26th.
Rumors have been doing the rounds that the pair has been dating since January, since they were spotted getting close at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
The Oscar nominated stars, both 29, “respect their private lives and don’t want to go public,” a source told OK! Magazine, back in February.
During their appearances at Cannes, the co-stars, and actress Faith Wladyka, who plays their daughter in the film, show tremendous chemistry. It looks like the perfect fake family.
Ms Williams has been inviting attention for her stunning new bleached blonde short crop. During the photocall, she wore a Suno mini dress, while she wore a Chanel spring’10 dress for the premiere. She is receiving rave reviews for her look at Cannes this year.
Ms Williams shot to fame with Dawson’s Creek, in which she portrayed the role of Jen Lindley for all the six seasons of the show. The most notable role of her film career is in Brokeback Mountain, where she played the wife of Heath Ledger’s character.
She has a five-year-old daughter, Matilda Ledger, from her engagement to Heath Ledger. The couple fell in love on the sets of Brokeback Mountain, and broke up in 2007. The death of Heath Ledger was a trying time for Ms Williams. During the time, she was frequently reported to be highly agitated and bewildered at the paparazzi. In a statement issued to the press after Heath Ledger’s death, she requested the paparazzi to, “please respect our need to grieve privately. My heart is broken.”
