Are you a Gleek? Do you even know what a Gleek is? If you don’t then the chances are that you don’t watch E4 on a Monday evening. Since it’s launched on UK TV screens some weeks ago, the Glee TV show has become something of a phenomenon amongst UK TV viewers. With avid fans of the all singing, all dancing TV show being nicknamed Gleek’s it is easy to see why this show has become so popular.
Thanks to High School Musical, Hannah Montana and The Jonas Brothers music based TV shows & films are all the rage. Since its first TV only film, High School Musical has gone on to become one of the highest selling merchandise TV shows in the world. It really is no surprise that others have followed suit. The UK tried to jump on board with Gary Barlow’s TV show Britannia High; however the TV failed to get any decent ratings and didn’t make it passed the 1st series.
It seems America knows how to do things properly and has jumped on the musical bandwagon with Glee. The weekly TV series is set in a typical US High School. The Students all have their own battles to face as well as many of them being part of the schools Glee club. Each week we see them singing some of the most popular songs in chart history.
It seems that the world has taken Glee into its heart with millions tuning in all over the world to see the students in action. In fact in America it has become so popular that some of the cast are even taking part in a tour throughout the country so people can experience Glee live.
